Delivery drivers are not allowed to enter the building. Guests must receive delivery orders at the entrance.
Garbage and recyclables must be brought to the garbage room in G1 and placed in the respective bins.
No luggage storage is available in the building before check-in or after check-out.
HOW TO ACCESS THE APARTMENT
The apartment has a smart lock that can be unlocked with a code. To unlock it, you must wake up the display, enter your code, and then “#”. See a quick video on how to use the smart lock here.
To apply the deadbolt locks, turn the handle upwards. If you make mistakes and it gives you a warning, wait 60 seconds and try again.
You will be provided with a 4-digit code the day before your arrival.
The building reception does not have codes, keys, or access to the apartment.
If you have problems, contact me via the Airbnb chat or WhatsApp.
HOT WATER
The apartment has a general gas water heater. You should get hot water in all fixtures, just turn the handles to the left for hot water. It may take a minute or two for the hot water to reach the faucet/shower.
Gas water heaters need water pressure to turn on.
When showering, turn the handle all the way to the left. if the water is too hot for your preference, turn the handle a little to the right, but not too much, wait and check. If the water turns cold, you go too far and the heater is turned off. If this happens, turn the handle to the left again and wait.
COFFEE AND TEA
COFFEE
There is an espresso machine and a regular coffee maker in the apartment. There may be some coffee on the kitchen cabinet, feel free to use what you find. You can get coffee a few blocks away here:
Cafe molido: https://maps.app.goo.gl/VYcdtpTRE98B13698
Ask them to grind the coffee for regular or expresso (machine with portafilter). The espresso machine won’t work well unless coffee is ground accordingly.
TEA
There is a water boiler on the counter or in one of the cabinets There are also various teas in a tea box or cabinets. Feel free to use what you find.
COOKING
The kitchen has the following things you can use:
Refrigerator
Gas stove and oven.
Large microwave.
Rice maker/air fryer. An attachment needs to be removed to use as an air fryer. See the instructions in one of the drawers.
Blender.
Toaster
Electric panini grill.
A pan and pot for the basic stuff. These are made of stone and heat up pretty fast, use with a very low flame to avoid burning stuff.
More dishes in the cabinet on top of the fridge if needed.
These are all that I have needed since you really should be out enjoying the food spots in the area. 🙂
If you use any of these items, please leave them clean without food residue.
IN-HOME ENTERTAINMENT
TVs
There are two 65 in TVs. One is in the TV room and one in the main room. I only have Amazon Video on it, but you can login with your service of choice. Remember to log out when you leave.
MUSIC
There is a Bluetooth speaker Harman Kardon in the living room. You can use the tablet to play music. Amazon Music is available. You can also connect your phone via Bluetooth. Instructions should be around the speaker. You can disconnect the speaker and move it around.
AMBIENT LIGHTS
There are a couple of ambient color lights in the living room area. They turn on at 6 PM and turn off at midnight. You can change the colors from the tablet’s Hue app. You can unplug them and place them anywhere, they have batteries.
OFFICE
There is a monitor, Bluetooth keyboard, and mouse you can use while you stay.
Keyboard: The On switch is on the left side. To connect, press and hold one of the 3 buttons above the numbers 1,2 or 3, to put it on pair mode.
Mouse: The On switch is on the back. Press and hold the button next to it to put it on pair mode.
Monitor: There is an HDMI cable to use. There are other cables with different connectors if your laptop doesn’t have HDMI.
If you use the mouse and keyboard, please turn them off before you leave to save the battery life.
AC / DEHUMIDIFIER / HEATER / FANS
SPLIT AC IN KITCHEN-DINING-LIVING ROOM
There is a remote on the counter or table to control the unit. It can run in cold (AC), heater, dehumidifier, or on fan mode.
The unit is programmed to be turned off every day at midnight to conserve energy. If you think you need this changed, just let me know.
DEHUMIDIFIERS
Miraflores can get very humid. The main AC unit, has a DRY setting. It will help with it. There are a couple of dehumidifiers in the rooms.
PORTABLE FANS
There are 2 portable fans in the walk-in closet.
If you run the air conditioner or heater, the patio door must be closed, otherwise hot air from the unit will enter the apartment and create condensation.
Please turn off appliances before checking out.
GARBAGE & RECICLYING
Garbage and recyclables go to the garbage room, located on the garage level 1. G1 on the elevator. To the right when leaving the elevator.
You can find garbage bags in the kitchen, under the sink, or in the drawers.
PARKING
There is a parking space that can be used. Located on the G3 level. Space # 53. If you are coming with a car, let me know so I can let the building know. I have a garage door opener, located above the kitchen stove. Please make sure to put it back before you check out.
There is no parking for guests in the building. But there is a garage on Calle Colon half a block away open until 11:30 PM.
LAUNDRY
There is a laundry closet inside the apartment with all you need to do laundry. The dryer usually dries up clothes in 40 mins. Check, so your clothes don’t shrink.
If you want dry cleaning, the place right across the street is great and the owner is friendly.
Watch the videos to learn how to operate:
Washer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfuMswtJSRQ
Once the washing cycle starts the door locks, let it finish. Don’t force the door open. It will damage the unit.
You can not hang clothes on the balcony or windows. The building will issue a fine.
You can use the liquid soap left behind. If it runs out, the washer uses High Efficiency liquid detergent. The best place to get it is the Metro market.
SUPERMARKET Y GROCERIES
SMALL MARKETS
There are a few small markets within a block or two for all the basic stuff you may need.
LARGER SUPERMARKET
Metro supermarket is open 24 hours a few blocks away.

EATING OUT
BUDGET-FRIENDLY
There are a few places with a lunch “menu” within a block radius, budget-friendly for a quick lunch, with often homemade-style meals. They usually serve something to drink, an entry, and a main dish for around 13-17 soles. ($3.50 – $4.50).
My picks:
Fusions: Popup place just serves lunch. They give you a desert as well.

OTHER THINGS TO DO IN THE AREA
If you don’t have plans set, these are some of the things you could do while in Lima:
1. Visit Larcomar, an open-air mall on a cliff that overlooks the Pacific Ocean. Just 6 blocks from the apartment and follow the Miraflores Boardwalk for a picturesque view of parks and the ocean. I recommend a walk from Larcomar all the way to the lighthouse.
https://goo.gl/maps/vBgFZ1HxyFmWuLUr8
2. Visit Barranco’s “Puente de los suspiros” (bridge of sights). Barranco is considered the artsy and bohemian district. There are really cool murals to see in the area. Legend says that if you cross the bridge holding your breath, your love wish would come true. 🙂
https://goo.gl/maps/r4QDnsGDyThyaRfR8
3. Visit the “Circuito Mágico Del Agua” (Magic water circuit). A park with a series of illuminated fountains. These are pretty cool displays. Recommended to go around dusk.
https://goo.gl/maps/GMDkhsSEiw3gdGqk8
4. Enjoy Peruvian food. There are so many places to go, some mentioned above. Peruvian “Comida criolla” is the best.
5. Visit the “Monasterio de San Francisco” (San Francisco Monastery) and its catacombs.
